Cost of Living

Some of you may be traveling to the United States for the first time. As part of the program, you will receive an allowance to cover your meals and incidental expenses. Most people from the 2007 group felt like this was enough money, but others recommended that this year's Fellows bring additional funds with them. The following is meant to give you some idea about what things cost in the United States. If you have questions about other items, let us know and we will add them here.

You should know that there are Middle Eastern grocery stores in Syracuse. One is quite close to your hotel. Another is a short drive away. As such, you may want to purchase things like olive oil here, though we understand from last years group that you may have special brands special to you that you cannot find here.
