Money
The University will be paying the hotels directly to cover the cost of your accommodations, so you'll not need to worry about coordinating that expense. With regard to covering your meals and incidental expenses, we will provide cash advances during the initial phases of the program and then monthly installment distributions. The process by which we will provide these installments are tied to the arrangements we have made allowing you each to conveniently open a bank account after you arrive in Syracuse.
We would also encourage Fellows, to the extent it is possible, to bring a modest amount of cash or travelers checks to cover unanticipated incidental expenses. Travel expenses that you incur can be reimbursed after you arrive in Syracuse, so please keep those receipts.
Banking
A representative from Bank America will be available at the program orientation, in Syracuse to assist you in establishing a bank account in the United States. Syracuse University’s Slutzker Center for International Services provides more banking information on their website.
